Job Information:

Glitch Productions is looking for a highly capable, analytical, and organised Head of 3D Production to help manage, monitor, orchestrate, and schedule production needs in all departments and across all of our Glitch Productions series. This position requires a strong ability to manage a large team and ensure they are both motivated and reliable. You will also be required to strategize and plan far ahead on what will be required for each project and department and conflict resolve any production issues with the production managers who will be your direct reports.

 

This role will see you using advanced problem solving and management skills to ensure that our team produces content according to schedules, deadlines, and the demands of our audience. You will be both responsible for ensuring that productions are able to deliver content on time; that all departments have the resources, skills, and staffing that they need; and the assurance of a high level of quality from everything we make.

 

You will be working closely with the CEO and executive team to help formulate our release schedules, budgets, and the overall growth of our production department, particularly the Glitch Originals team which accounts for 35 full-time employees and a dozen more freelancers.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing the schedules of all departments in our animation production pipeline and ensuring production is able to deliver on schedule.

  • Coordinating the needs and resources of the production team with external departments, such as marketing and merchandise.

  • Resolving conflicts and issues between team members and departments to maintain morale and team cohesion.

  • Organise team members and use critical problem solving skills to prevent disruptions to workflow.

  • Plan effective allocation of resources to projects to stick to pre-approved production budgets and timelines.

  • Run production meetings with multiple team members

  • Lead the middle management team through helping them on departmental issues, upskilling their own management skills, and directing them on their own schedules and priorities.

  • Formulate and propose new tools and pipelines to increase the efficiency of the production team, and then either executing or directing the execution of those tools/pipelines.

  • Assisting with the release schedule of our content to ensure audience satisfaction.

  • Direct team meetings to ensure effective communication within and between departments.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in managing a project in the animation/game development space.

  • Experience with management software such as Asana, Trello, or Shotgrid.

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills and ability to think independently.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • People management and conflict resolution experience.

  • Leadership experience

  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to an incredibly fast paced environment.

  • Initiative and a desire to improve efficiency and workflow.

Bonus Skills

  • Strong knowledge of the entire 3D animation pipeline and what resources are involved in each step.

  • Strong understanding of internet and gaming culture.

  • 3D animation skills.

  • 3D modelling/rigging skills.

  • Knowledge of Unreal Engine or Unity.

  • Accounting and/or data analytical abilities.
